New Orleans

Going stop in New Orleans next month on our trip to Cajun country. Thought about staying at the French Quarter RV resort since its close to everything.n
Curious of the safety and noise being right where it is located.m. Any body have any experiences at this park? Thanks for your help .

We stayed there last year. Made reservations with our two kids, 10 & 4, for two days. Had to leave to head home after five days. Loved, loved, loved the place. Very friendly and very close, walking distance to Quarter. No problem with sound and felt safe. However, did not venture out after dark mainly because of kids. They do have a van and when available they will take you within close proximity, and will pick you up at night for a small fee. We do plan on going back.

You could also try Pontchartrain Landing New Orleans. We stayed there and loved it. 8 min from the quarter.

We have stayed there several times and felt safe within the park. I don't believe we would feel safe walking the streets near there at night but I am not sure that is any different than any large US city downtown. We took cabs several times to and from restaurants in and near the Quarter at night with no problems.

We stayed there about 3 weeks ago. Great place. Noise was not a problem and the place is totally fenced and gated. It is the nicest place we've ever stayed. We walked to the FQ during the day and after dark with no problems. We were in a group though when walking. We made friends with others in the park and were hanging out with them. We did drive to a restaurant in the FQ one evening and parking was difficult. Walked almost as far as if we had walked from the park. We will definitely stay there when we go back to NOLA.

Stayed at French Quarter RV Resort in early March. Kind of pricey, but I would go back because of the great location. Make reservation in advance, it's not very big.

We stayed there in 2010 and loved it. We DID venture out after dark walking to the FQ and back. We certainly didn't feel in harm's way but in hindsight, a cab after dark would have probably been a better idea.

No problem with security in the park.

At least in 2010, I think they were a Passport America park and we got the first night half price... which about pays for the PA annual dues.
