Looking for park recommendations near the Big Easy. Want for 2-3 nights in December.

Ponchartrain Landing RV Park. Nice place. Has pool and onsite restaurant, full hookups, propane, etc.. Easy Uber to the Quarter.

Or blow a wad and stay in the quarter at the rv park there. We also have stayed on the west side at the KOA. Good access to the river trail if you are into biking.

Just stayed at Ponchartrain landing for Jazz Fest and it was a good experience...nice pool... decent restaurant on premise with good food and live music...staff is friendly...all gravel roads so dust is a problem...they run a shuttle to the French quarter for $6 roundtrip twice daily...they are on the water in an industrial area, but once in the gates all is good ...

I agree with others on Pontchartrain landing. The shuttle to the quarter was nice, restaurant was decent and had live music a few nights a week.
The only down side was the dusty roads that stuck to your shoes, so was hard to keep it out of the coach.
We had a waterfront site, and I think was worth the upgrade if you plan to spend much time at campground.
We spent a week there in the end of March of 17.

Ponchartrain Landing is a good option. The neighborhoods just outside of it are a little dicey but there should be no reason for you to be driving through them anyways. You have quick access to I-10 that will lead you into the French Quarter or anywhere else you may want to visit in the area. Stay away from the RV parks in New Orleans East along Chef Hwy. Feel free to send me a pvt message if you have any other questions on a specific location.

We always stay at the French Quarter RV park, no issues ever. It is more expensive than the others, but right across the street from the French Quarter. We like to make day and night sojourns into the quarter. When we want to go to the Garden District or Uptown we drive the car.
