New Orleans area park info?

Hey all.... I'm looking for a place to park the motorhome for a few days around New Orleans....Just plan to stay long enough to show my girlfriend New Orleans.... doesn't need to be fancy but looking around a bit myself I keep seeing things like "not safe" and "don't walk around here" in some of the park reviews.... anyone with any suggestions??? Thanks so much...

We stayed in Slidell. Quick drive in to the city AND you can eat great seafood at Kenny’s

We stayed at the West New Orleans KOA.
They offer a shuttle into the French Quarter and they do not raise they prices during Mardi Gras, at least they didn't the year we went.
We will be re-booking them for a few days in March again.

KOA West is fine. If you have deep pockets go for the French Quarter RV park.

We used Jude travel park when we visited. Nice owners on site, gated, they will shuttle you into the city and offered good this about safety there. Felt very comfortable leaving the rig and pup in the park while we visited.

We are planning on going down and spending a few days there in a couple of weeks. I would like to stay somewhere that offers a shuttle service so we won't have to drive in and find a place to park.
We've never been there, so want to have some sort of tour, see Bourbon St and of course, eat.

Pontchartrain Landing is also very nice. They offer shuttles to downtown.

Pontchartrain Landing is a decent park. Can be a bit dusty (or muddy) ... but they have a nice shuttle to take you to the Quarter and a decent restaurant on site.

Pine Crest - decent no frills place to park. Eat at Kenny’s Seafood. You won’t be sorry. In fact have some oysters for me!

Agree with the dusty/muddy art. It can be a mess there. Regarding the shuttle, when we were there, the shuttle quit running pretty early, I think sometime around 7 or 8 pm. That really doesn't work if you want to do any thing in the quarter during the evening/night. We ended up taking the toad.
