New park opening soon on Pensacola BEACH!

Finally they are working thru all the red tape & plan to open on or around August 1. There is an article in pnj.com today that gives a phone number where you can leave your email for updates when they are taking reservations. If you want to see the location, pull up a map of pensacola beach & look at the main boardwalk area on the sound side called quietwater, to the right of that area if you look at a satellite view there is a building with a red roof on the sound side that is a fun car rental. Just to the right of the fun car building you will see a empty parking lot asphalt area where a hotel used to be (pre hurricane!). This is the property it's being built on. It will have sound side beach access...and is directly across the street from the gulf. For those of you who like to see the Blue Angels air show every year the week after the 4th of July...this is PRIME location!!! We are so excited!!! Too bad they won't be open this year for the show.

We do love Ft. Pickens (state park), but for those wanting a rv park type facility with a pool and close to restaurants, etc..this will be a great addition to the area!

They have been saying that for years now. I hope it's true. I go to the song writers fest every year which is right on the beach. Would be nice to be in the middle of the action.

For some reason they still haven't released that info...the article in pnj.com just says they're working on a website & hiring a manager. Hopefully it'll be announced soon. There is a phone number if you want to call...I think it's to the office of one of the developers & the secretary is taking email addresses from those who'd like to be contacted when it's up.

I live at Pensacola Beach and it is a fact. They're working like crazy to get the place finished.

While out running errands today, I picked up a copy of the Pensacola Beach 2012 Visitor Guide for my niece who's coming down next month. In the guide, they list the RV park as Pensacola Beach RV Park. That's all I've ever seen it called. I'm at the west end of the Island - those of you who've been to Fort Pickens drove right past my house - but next time I go out, I'll drive past the park to see if there's anything else posted at the site which might give us more info.
