Dave, welcome from a former neighbor (lived in Token Creek for 23 years). After we'd sold the houses I was the volunteer camp host at Token Creek park for a while.

I'd recommend the place we stayed last year (Deer Creek, Davenport FL) except it does not have fishing. We like it because its just a few minutes from Disney World. Figure about $800 per month, inclusive of utilities, or $650 exclusive of utilities.

Be sure to check the climate charts for anywhere you're thinking of parking it for the winter. I was surprised to find out how cold some of those desert and gulf side destinations get in the winter.

BTW, Wilder has operations in FL also. We don't expect to plant the tires for 4 months but that depends on how quickly our retirements are processed.

We are retiring at the end of November from government service. OPM is way behind in processing retirements and my retiring from federal service just before the holidays won't make it go any faster. Sandee is retiring from the State of Illinois which may be better but still takes time. So, for a few month we opted for a well priced location to help us sit out fluctuations in our retirement processing. This will help us avoid using savings if either of us runs into delays processing our retirements during the early period where we are receiving estimated annuity payments. If the processing take a long time that means we may have to stay parked a bit more than we wanted to but this will eventually pass.

We also opted for that area because of some highly recommended dental care facilities in Reynosa just across the boarder from Alamo, TX. I need some work that will take some time so being in that area for a few months is good for that also.
