We recently moved to the Raleigh, NC area, and we are contemplating finding a campground within 2-3 hours to permanently place our camper.

We'd like to go east towards the beach, but doesn't seem like there are too many campgrounds that offer seasonal sites.

Any suggestions? Or are we better off looking west towards the mountains to find more seasonal friendly campgrounds?

Do a google search and call the camp grounds you find appealing, see if they have something to offer you. Look in South Carolina as well, Apache Campground located in N. Myrtle Beach is not much further from Cary. Good luck.

We used to live in Coinjock NC 7 yrs ago. There was a campground at the end of Waterlily Rd that was on Currituck Sound. I used there boat launch many times.

Look at Myrtle Beach Travel Park. They and the others there will store your rv and the set it up level at a site for you. Tippy Toe Repo is one that stores and brings your rig back and forth.

Any of the big 3 parks in Myrtle Beach will do as mentioned about MBTP. They each do their own towing and there is no additional charge. I know that Ocean Lakes charges $54/month and then you pay the site rental while you are there. Would be cheaper than doing a seasonal spot.

Welcome to the eastern part of NC.

You can look into White Oak Shores located in Stella, NC. Great family run campground with lots of permanent sites as well as a few transient sites. I spent 3 days last week end here and will go back.

Goose Creek Campground located in Cedar Point, NC.

Holiday Travel Park located in Emerald Isle, NC.

Just a few that came to mind this AM that are about 2.5 hours from Cary.

Thanks for the replies. I'll look into it. Do the campgrounds provide a section for seasonal storage folks, so you don't have to plan stays well in advance?
