New York City

Hi
We live in Ontario and winter in Florida, we come back home around the end of April.
On our way back we usually visit places of interest i.e. Nashville Memphis etc.
This year it was Washington D.C. and we truly enjoyed it.
We stayed at Cherry hill Rv park and loved it, very convenient to all amenities.
Next year we are thinking about New York City. We have never been and are a little intimidated.
Looking for some information on Rv parks and must see and do activities.
Any advice would be most alleviated! Thank you

NYC

We stayed at Liberty Harbor RV/Marina in Jersey City. You can see the Statue of Liberty out your window and Manhattan is right across the river. You can ride a water taxi from your front door to Manhattan for $7. You can also walk to the Subway station a few blocks away and go anywhere in NYC from there. The park is located just a few blocks from the Jersey Turnpike and is not hard to get to (depending on traffic). It's basically a paved parking area with 50A power and water. There is a dump on the location so that's no problem. The sky is the limit as far as things to do in the city, and the RV park has all the brochures. We saw a couple of Broadway shows, Empire state building, 9/11 memorial, great food, rode our bicycles around in central park etc etc. Fun place... Steve

+1 on Liberty Harbor RV/Marina.
Close as you can get and real easy. No toad required to go into the city.

Liberty Harbor/Marina is great for a place to stay while visiting NYC but is not an RV Resort like Cherry Hill near DC.

Things to do:
- Broadway - saw Jersey Boys in January and it was great
- Freedom Tower and the WTC Memorial
- Times Square - now a large part is a pedestrian mall
- Empire State Building on a clear day
- there are a number of bus tours that are great because they give you a great lay of the land and you can go back to the places of interest
- Little Italy, Chinatown - great food

We were down there a couple years ago during Fleet Week. Lot's of tall ships to tour. Don't forget to check out the Intrepid Museum and the Nuclear Sub next to it.

Let us know how it went.
