Its your decision but you will miss some of the best sights and attrractions by not crossing over to the Canadian side. I know everyone has their reasons but for pure beauty the Canadian side is by far the best. Crossing twice with you toad would be more than crossing once with the MH or 5th wheel. At the Buffalo crossing they have a specific lane for RV's and we have passed long line ups of automobiles to go directly to the customs agent for RV's.

Take your toad to the Canadian side. I have recommended 4 mile creek for the past 4 1/2 years. It is a can't miss campground!!

We cross the border maybe 5-6 times a year for the last 20+ years and have found that on average it takes the same time to pass with an RV as it does with our toad. Its not the big deal. . And this applies to no matter which way we were travelling, into the US or into Canada. The only time we have ever had a full inspection was when we were in the car

Old Fort Niagra is a gem. Well worth the $ 10.00 fee. I'm here ( four mile creek ) now and went to Lockport yesterday and took a 2 hour Erie Canal cruise. It was really cool to be there as we always heard of it. Went through 2 locks ( 49 feet ).New York State Power Auth has a free viewing area and extensive exhibit on the Niagra River. We went to the American side of the falls the other day and had good views by the Rainbow Bridge and Goat Island and plan to walk over the bridge today to view the falls from the Can. side. We've been here before but never get bored with these sites. Also plan to do the Maid of the Mist again as well. It goes as close as you can get to the falls. There are other attractions at the falls. It depends on how wet you care to get and how much you want to spend. Enjoy

I forgot to mention that the car pass you get from the cg gets you into any nys park for the days that you are camping including the one at the falls. It saves you the $10.00 parking fee.

Canadian side definitely gives you a better view of the falls, good selection golf courses, 2 sasinos, Niagara on the Lake etc.. I just don't like the long waits at customs. Last time we went, We waited 10 minutes fo get into Canada and 2 hours to return to the USA. Yes, 2 hours. Normally, the wait is about 1/2 hour.

I walked over the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. No waiting,$.50 round trip great views. Be sure to bring your passport.

My wife and I have walked the bridge several times, parked in the lot close to the bridge on the US side, went over - saw the lights at night and walked back. Well worth the walk - in my opinion. No vehicle problems and traffic lines and no parking problem on the Canada side when you walk across. As mentioned above - passport and a couple of quarters are necessary.

I have stayed at lakeside Beach State Park 4 or 5 times. It is one of my favioite parks. It is on Lake Ontario and there are some sites on the lake. It is 50-60miles east of Falls.

Four Mile Creek State Park only allows 2 dogs per site. We like the Canadian side. Close to the falls. Crossing was no big deal even with a underage Irish girl that was visiting us. They just wanted to know who she was and why she was with us (coming back into the US). If you are traveling with someone else child make sure you get a signed approval to have with you when you cross the border.

Four mile creek was very wet when we stayed there in April last year just after they opened. We were able to move to a drier spot.
