Norfolk Virginia

We are looking for a nice campground by Norfolk, Virginia. Has anyone had a good experience and provide a recommendation? Thanks in advance.

PS We do not yet have our motorhome but it will be about 32 feet if that makes a difference.

The closest you'll get with full hookups will be in Virginia Beach on General Booth Blvd. There is a KOA and Holkuday Yraverl Park. Both are rather pricy. There is also a state park on the Chesapeake Bay ,First Landing State Park. There are multiple military famcamps if you qualify

Both the KOA and Holiday Travel Park are open all year. Enjoy the military jets screaming overhead. We stay at the NAS Oceana campground every year while visiting family.

Back in March/April we stayed a bit north of Norfolk,at the Newport News Campground. Nice rural setting but close enough to Norfolk, Williamsburg, and other areas to be a decent base. The sites are good sized, with 50A and water, but no sewer, although they do have a dump station. I think we paid around $30 a night.

We like Newport News Campground but the traffic getting back to the Norfolk area is horrible. The Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel seems to always have a back up.
