Good Morning all!
Does anyone have any recommendations for Fargo, ND campgrounds. Very slim pickings out there. We have a 45 foot MH plus toad. Doesn’t look like ND caters at all to big rigs. Crossing the state on I 94 this summer. Thanks in advance!

Good morning to you too. A quick look on Allstays revealed a Red River Fair (grounds?) west of Fargo. Rated at two stars. On the east side of Fargo is a state park. See below:Click image for larger version

Fargo, ND Campground Reviews - Best of Fargo Camping - RV Park Reviews

These 3 near Fargo would be suitable for your 45'. We've stayed at Buffalo River State Park with our 40' & toad (beautiful):

Buffalo River State Park (March 30 - Oct 21) - long sites - some twice as long as your setup

Red River Valley Fairgrounds

Wagner Park, Barnesville, ND

A lot of folks overlook local fairgrounds but we've always had good luck using them as we traveled. Usually big, open sites and easy to get a site if there's nothing doing at the grounds.

Are you making Fargo your only stop in ND?

Slowpokeslim asks a great question. Any other ND sites that you may be interested in?

In 2015 we visited with family and parked our 37' Class A for two weeks at Lake Metagoshe State Park. Fantastic place for enjoying the water. I don't know if they can accommodate a rig your size. I couldn't discern from their website.

Nearby is the International Peace Gardens that straddle ND and Manitoba Canada. Another enjoyable place. There is a campground located on the grounds. From memory, this CG would accommodate a rig your size.

If you are into Snowmobiles and Quads, the Arctic Cat factory is nearby in Theif River Falls, MN. 650,000 square foot factory. Very fascinating tour. We stayed at a City Park Campground while in TRF. Not a Resort by any means, but it served its purpose.

We were blown away by the amount Sunflower fields in ND.

No, going across 94 to Bismarck and Medora also. Traversing the whole state.

Thank you, haven’t looked at Barnesville but I will! Nice to get first hand information.

We stayed at the Fargo Moorhead campground several years ago. Lots of big sites it appears. We were there with a motorcycle and pop up so no further information about hookups.

We’ve stayed at Buffalo River SP in Minnesota, near the state line. Was a nice park with deep sites and paved roads. We had electricity but can’t remember off the top of my head about water.

Well it's farther east, and a bit south of I-94, but Fort Ransom State Park is one of our favorites. Beautiful little park, several pull throughs. We stayed in space #13 on the outer loop. Fantastic, peaceful, quiet, and other campers are not right on top of you. If you get a pull-through site, you'll have no trouble with rig size. We could have parked another full sized pickup in front of ours as it sat disconnected in front of our 5'er.

One of our other "most favorite" campgrounds is quite a ways out of your way. Fort Stevenson State Park. It's around an hour north of I-94, up Hwy 83 out of Bismarck, on the north side shores of Lake Sakakawea. Great campground, lots of pull through sites that are quite large and surprisingly far from each neighbor. Super clean and quiet campground. Highly recommend it if you've got time to be sidelined away from your main travel path.

We stayed at the Medora Campground while staying in Medora. It was ok. Not great, and we didn't love it, but it wasn't bad. Grounds could have used more care, but it was early in the season when we stayed. Not much grass, mostly weeds and gravel. They did set us in a row by ourselves, but I think that was because we had 4 Labs, and they thought we might be noisy (we weren't-they are quiet dogs). Plenty of large rigs in there, very busy park during "peak tourist season".
