North georgia mountain colors

We just got back from a camping trip to the n.ga. Mountains, staying at riverbend in hiwassee which is just one of the best campgrounds to stay in , everthing decorated for the fall..the colors of the trees were at their best...my what a beautiful canvas god paints these mountain trees. It rained a couple of days and it was even prettier, the tree colors were sharper and the fog, looked like steam coming from the mountain tops. We took in the ga. Mountain fair fall festival and explored the many surrounding towns. This is such a nice ga. Area to visit and so close to tennessee and n. Carolina.

We are camping at Bald Mountain Camping Resort, also in Hiawassee, Ga You can see Brasstown Bald, highest point in GA from our campsite. Bald Mountain was voted #1 in GA. I highly recommend it from April through October. Full hookups and mostly pull-thrus.

Oh, yes. Did the Helen trip but be prepared to sit in traffic. Love Betty's Country Store, good German food, and the fudge, etc. Definitely a must in North Ga.

Our favorite eating places is the brasstown valley resort, friday night, prime rib and sat. Seafood buffet , smith house in dahlognea. During october fest we usually avoid helen because of the traffic congestion and lack of parking spaces. There is so much to do in this area, with the shops, the festivals, the beautiful countryside, and all the waterfalls.

Bald Mountain Camping Resort is easily accessible. All sites are level as well as the roads into the campground. Check out their website.

We found a great place for breakfast but go during the week. We heard that there is a wait for a parking space on weekends! It is the Sawmill Place in Blairsville. Well worth the drive.
