North Pole Alaska Visitor Center Location Change

As of a few weeks ago (July 2013) the location of the North Pole Alaska Visitor Center has been changed to the front office of the closed Santa Clause Campground. The old visitor center was across the hyway (Richardson hyway) It is now next to the Santa-clause House store. Plenty of parking now....You need to get off at Badger Road exit and take the freeway frontage street called St. Nicholas Drive by the Wendy's for a short distance (1000 feet)

Thanks for the post. You have saved countless parents the agony of not finding it. We were there in 04 and still have letters sent to kids from the Jolly Old Sole .

Took a walk over to the North Pole visitor center today. Picked up a few maps for future travel. I asked the lady how come the Santa Clause Campground closed. She said the city wanted them to upgrade their electric service, but that would have cost too much $$$ to try to recoup over the short summer travel season, so they just closed.

If you have a choice to stop at either the Fairbanks or the North Pole Visitor center's, I would stop at the Fairbanks one, by far much more info and many volunteers to help guide you thru your adventure. We're up here for two weeks and plan to go to the Fairbanks Fair Thursday and hit the Fairbanks VC. also.

You did buy a pair of the large red suspenders that say North Pole on them, right?
