Northeast routing with MH

What would be best route to and from Newport, RI to Nashville, TN. What about toll roads. What to avoid and when to travel, day or night. Prefer to travel days but will adjust as needed. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Have not been to northeast before.

Sorry, can't help you with routing, but we are in Newport now. It's a gorgeous, charming place. Enjoy!!

I would route myself to Hartford (Connecticut Hwy 2 looks like a decent option) and then take I-84 to I-81. I-81 has lots of traffic but it's a lot less then you'll find on the I-95 corridor and there won't be any tolls, if those are of concern to you.

There's a recent thread "Route from PA to CT & ME" that should be of help.

I-81 hooking up to I-40 is a great route to go. We have taken it many times as we have family in Nashville. If camping in Nashville the KOA is nice there and close to downtown.
