Northern Cal to Yosemite

Greetings. We are currently in Oregon and plan to meet relatives in southern Yosemite in about three weeks. We have been on the road a while and would really appreciate suggestions for a nice campground to spend about two weeks now. Our wish list would be a nice scenic campground with paved roads and full hookups and COOL temperatures where we could enjoy sitting and relaxing in our yard chairs. We feel we need a little rest as have been ON THE GO since July. But we would likely also want to do a little more hiking... Are we dreaming? Does such a place exist?

Yes, you are likely dreaming. You need to go to the reservation website for Yosemite. There are campgrounds that meet your specs, but they often get reserved within minutes of becoming available 6 months ahead of time. That being said, I have seen empty camp sites from people who don't show up for their reservations. If you want to try a last minute reservation, you can, and may be successful. There is a reservation office in the valley. Also, by checking the website, you should find out what the maximum MH length is that they will accept.

Thank you... We do have reservations for the week we will be at Yosemite, yet would like to find somewhere in-between or nearby that would be a nice resting spot...

Did find a pleasant, relaxing stop and can recommend it. Very nice facility.

www.durangorvresorts.com in Red Bluff, California

Is right off the freeway as so many seem to be since we entered enter Cal from Oregon so our "fountain" spot really makes it pleasant.

You don't mention where in Oregon you happen to be but if on or near I-5 Seven Feathers Casino has a great RV park. It's off exit 99 on I-5 near Canyonville.
