Not Big Rig Friendly -Sea Perch RV Park - Yachats OR

I reserved our space 4 months in advance, on their web's reservation request form. The form asked for our coach length and how many slides on each side. When I called to give them our credit card guarranty, they asked if we would prefer a pull-thru or back-in. Since their pull-thrus did not have sewer, I asked for a backin. I was asked if I intended to unhook my car before I backed in! ...

I explained that you could not backup with a car in tow, and that we would need space to park our car. So a backin space was confirmed.

A week before we arrived, I called again to confirm our space and remind them of our size.

How surprised we were when we showed up and they gave us space #20. It was an obstacle course to park....

..large planters of flowers on the edge of the driveway that prevented you from making a wide turn while backing in.

..a tall sewer vent and water outlet at the rear corner of the space.

..a deeply sunken area of grass at the rear edge of the pavement.. where our rear tires would have to go in order to get our front wheels out of the driveway.

..putting out our bedroom slide would have hit the roof of the park's office.

..putting out our driver side slide would have had it covering half of the picnic table on the next site.

So, when we finally got parked, we were still sticking out in the street by 3 feet.

When we complained, we were told "you requested full hookups so this is the only space we have available." I showed the manager my emails and notes regarding phone conversations specifying rig size, but was told "I'm not the person you talked to, so I'm not responsible."

She offered us a no-sewer pull thru, but we were so put off by their lack of service that we just left. Luckily, our next stop 25 miles up the coast was able to take us 3 days early.

The overall location of the park is nice. Right at the edge of the beach and just south of the lovely little town of Yahats, OR. However, they obviously don't hire knowledgable staff and the management takes no responsibility for their errors.

Wow, that's awful! I think this is the park my neighbor was just telling me about too! I'm looking for an RV park on the Oregon Coast to go to, near Newport, for a trip next year. I'll keep your post in mind!

The state parks are much better, if you can get in.

We stopped there (without reservations) on our last coast trip because I had heard others say how great it was but we were not impressed. The front-row sites facing the ocean looked pretty nice but were full. The rest of the sites looked small and crowded. We didn't stay.
