Not camping

I am not going to be camping until later this year. We have added to our family and have a beautiful six week old baby girl. This is going to be a first for us in many years. It has gotten me thinking of past trips. Last year was the first year for our dog and he did great. It was funny to see a little pomeranian running around the wilderness. He is a natural camper!

Congratulations on the child! We took our first camping trip with our child at about four or five months old (DW would remember exactly). We checked with the pediatrician first and got the go ahead since we would be in our RV. My mother likes to tell of taking me tent camping at four weeks old and ending up in a snow storm. It worked out ok but I like the way DW and I did it better for safety's sake.

Congratulations! We took our son on his first camping trip when he was 6 weeks old. The pediatriacian wasn't too pleased! We are now out and it is his one year birthday! Camping is a great family activity that I grew up with and my kids will too!

Take the baby camping! You can keep her just as warm and dry in your trailer as at home. We took our children out at about 4 weeks and every couple of weeks thereafter and they were fine.
