We are looking to head out of VT and had a last minute change of plans so need to find a new destination.

We need someplace relative inexpensive (have the America the Beautiful Access Pass) where we can get some much needed R&R. Have traveled all across the States back in the '80's with30' fifth wheel for our business, but that has been a long time ago.

Open to any suggestions...think NC, GA, or even further a stream! We have 400w solar (still needs hooked up), composting toilet, all self contained. Not averse to boondocking or dispersed camping. Just need to not be on the move all the time until we can catch our breathes. We are use to rural life and rural living and all that entails.

Hoping to head out by the beginning of the week!

Looking forward to any suggestions!

Flamingo, in Everglades NP is inexpensive, quiet & has lots of birds & wildlife.

If you want to venture as far west as AZ, we have a lot of parks, small and large. We have thousands of winter visitors every year. And they stay all around the area here. Close enough to Tucson to get what you need, but still far enough out to have the "country" feel. Tucson, Vail, St. David, Green Valley, Patagonia Lake (reservations and limited stay, but pretty nice), if you're a Veteran, Davis Monthan FamCamp, and many areas around here are very nice. If this is too far for your plans, that's understandable. If you've never been in this area, then why not? LOL!!

Have stayed at the Withlacoochie State Forest just south of Crystal River, FL. Water, 30 amp electric and a dump station. 10 from anywhere. Only downside: no dogs or horses in the campground. But they have kennels for dogs (for hunting dog trials, not Fluffy) and stables for horses. Lots of well marked hiking and horse riding trails. If you are looking for solitude....with 35 sites, rarely are more than 4 occupied during the week. Weekends bring locals and Boy Scouts, etc. Also Hillsboro County (Tampa and west of there) has some nice camps. No reservations, 2-week limit but you can bounce around.
