Nuts for heading north to Missouri?

We are in Texas, and have about 10 days vacation coming next week. Are we nuts for taking the Class C up north, Branson, MO area? We have camping weather all year down here, so really don't think about not going somewhere because of the weather....but is that area completely shut down for the winter? Or might we just have a few weather days where we'll stay indoors & off the road? Thanks!

does that look like something you want to do? Doesn't look like it will get above 40 during the days and in the 20's at night.

oh, this too...

Hi FishNFam,
In January and February, the entertainment is pretty much shut down. Use the web to see what is open. I'm sure there may be a few shows open. There will be no problem getting good seats. This is the time of year when the shows practice their new show or have signed up to perform on a few cruise ships.

Not worried about temps in the 30-40's, that sounds fine. I just saw the low is supposed to be 4 in the next couple of days--then looks like it warms up. Just wanted to be sure the whole area didn't fold up & move south. Doesn't sound like it does--looks like there's still some stuff around to see. I'm guessing most campgrounds are still open?

Not a big fan of the Branson area..... but some of the shows are decent... if they are running at this time of the year. Much more inclined to the Hermann, MO area..... nice, quiet little town that is just nice to visit. Wineries, restaurants, a bakery to die for and a bratwurst shop that is second to none... they even have a city owned rv park in the city park.... just a nice place to spend time.

Just looked at the weather and next week lows are in the mid 20's with highs in the mid 30's. There are some campgrounds open all year in the Branson area. I just looked at the KOA Branson web site and found this..."Winter Message: Campground is open on honor system for $25/night, electric, sewer, Wi-Fi & Cable at all sites. NO water, office or facilities available. Also NO snow removal.
If you decide to visit, check out the Titanic

If you don't mind the weather, you won't find it to be near as crowded and some things will not be open. Another easy day trip or place to visit is Eureka Springs, AR, I know Wanderlust RV Park on Passion Play Road is open all year. You will find some of Eureka Springs may not be open as well, but it is only about an hour to Branson from Eureka Springs as I recall.
