Hi ! We're leaving on the 5th for 2-3 weeks in Fla. Figure on spending some time at Manatee Springs SP, and some of the CGs in Ocala NF, Anyone have any favorites? Other nice CGs in that area? Thanks CROW

Hey;

We, too, are heading South to Florida out of the Atlanta area.

330 miles or about 6.5 hours South would put us near Gainesville, about 30 miles north of Ocala.

So, we also would like to hear from someone who knows that area.

I would think reservations might be necessary this time of year.

Have a great trip.

Harry

There is a beautiful spot in the Ocala called Juniper Springs (google Juniper springs for info). There is a large spring for swimming and a stream which canoe(ers)use. Start at the upper end - the spring - and paddle to the lower end and get picked up and returned to the park. It's a lovely place. I've been told the water is a constant temperature year round. It's chilly, even in summer, but once you're in and swimming, it really feels good.

Salt Springs in the OCN has full hook ups,
and Juniper & Alexander Springs don't.
So this depends on what you want.
I have heard/read great reviews on all three of
these national forest sites.
We will be in Salt Springs end of May.
I strongly suggest reservations for these areas.

Good Luck,

Jo
