This park is offering $459 month + 11¢ KWH for winter floridians. My question is: anyone staying there right now? How is upgrading going. Can't find any pix(other than a site map) on internet or their web page on what campground looks like. Paved streets? Shaded sites? JG

We spent the past three years there. This year, along with 15/20 other multiple year patrons are going to:
http://www.southernoaksrv.com/index.htm.

Most of the sights are in full sun, we stayed along the west side that is shaded by neighbors trees, see the first several pictures here for the results:

I stayed here for 6 nights in December of 2007. The renovations were underway. The interior roads are gravel. The sites are grass/gravel. There are pull through and back in sites. There is a pool. There is a club house. The place was very clean. It was also very plain. I'm sure once the lots are sold the lot owners will landscape their lots and the place will have a personality. The staff was friendly and helpful. Lastly, they are selling park model homes as well as the lots.

Ocala Sun (formerly Ocala Ranch) has gone through some great changes this summer. The NEW Clubhouse is beautiful and has individual bath facilities and laundry room, new kitchen, exercise room, pool table and large screen TV. Heated pool and jacuzzi. The daily rate is $37.00 without discounts. The park will be gated in a few weeks and will have cable in about 60 days. Activity director and DJ on site all winter.

Memaw, what is your affiliation with them? Will that new clubhouse be available to the regular customers, or just lot owners and / or as in the past, closed for the exclusive use of rallies when they come in?

Hi Mike and Lynda,
This is Pat and my husband and I have been at Ocala Sun since February and we have seen many changes take place. It has taken the company a year to obtain all permits from Marion county to do any renovations and they are finally moving forward. They still have things to accomplish but they have made great strides. As for your rally question, all rally groups have to share the clubhouse with any paying guest in the park. They also have to plan around any planned activities by the activity director. The new activity director has already started her plans for the coming season. All paying guest have full use of the clubhouse!

Hey Pat. This is John and I started this post with the idea of staying at Ocala Sun for the winter. Any chance you can get some photos of the sites and roads. Web page doesn't have any. Thanks, JG

Hi John
I see you have a Winnebago, they are having a rally at Ocala Sun the 19 of September. I am sure if you call 352-307-1100 or 877-809-1100 all of your questions can be answered and the six month rate is $399.00 a mo. Pat

Mrboo,I am wondering where Wachula Florida is? My street atlas isn't finding the town. We are planning to stay in mid to northern parts of Florida. We are also interested in Mr G's post.

Wachula is almost due east of St Pete about 1/3 way across the state.
