Ocean City Md. Suggestions please??

Would anyone happen to have any suggestions for a pet (dogs) friendly camp ground? We would like to go there or close by for 7 to 10 days this summer and I'd love to book now if I could.....
Thank you kindly...

Castaways is a nice campground and relatively close to the beach. I found it somewhat small for my unit and do not mind making a little longer drive. We usually stay at Island Resort. Either one should work.

Unless you need or want to be right in Ocean City, you might want to consider the National Park campground (no hookups, but there is water and dump stations available) on nearby Assateague Island. It will save a load on the wallet and Ocean City is a short drive away in a toad. Note there are two parks on the island, the National Park ALLOWS pets, the State Park does NOT.

Frontier Town isn't bad or just a little farther away is their sister park Fort Whaley (a little cheaper)

As mentioned, we like Assateague Island NATIONAL seashore (dog friendly).

Next is Castaways. very nice & lot's of room (we pay a lil extra $ for the Club Castaways section) They offer free shuttle bus to Ocean City, have their own small beach, tiki bar, luncheonette, off leash fenced dog area, a "bark beach" dog swim area, boat ramp, fishing docks, bait shop, etc. etc.

We stayed at FrontierTown once. Nice, with marina, ramp, lot's of wild-west themed things. Def. worth checking out if you have kids (or are a kid at heart)

Lastly, I wasn't real happy with Ft Whaley. I was put in a "small" section of the park where navigating thru the trees involved 2 people (high & low spotters) It was okay, but compared to the others, well, it didn't compare.

Good luck & let us know how you make out!

We stayed at Fort Whaley in the fall of 2010 and found the location to be great. We were able to get to Ocean City easily as well as Asateague and other areas.

We stay on Chincoteague Island, about an hour south of OC. Chincoteague is a former oyster/fishing village located behind Assateague Island. (the south end). One of my favorite places, the beach on Assateague is awesome and usually not too crowded.
We always stay at this place: http://www.pinegrovecampground.com/ The other campgrounds are crowded and not nearly as nice IMHO.
Ocean City makes a great day trip when we will feel the need for civilization.
(Which isn't too often)

I second the Island Resort suggestion. We have stayed there for several years now and find it to be clean and the staff pleasant. If you take dogs, take copies of shot records as they want to see these but the place is as animal friendly as any with only the standard rules about cleaning up after and keeping quiet. No doubt you are used to that as we are?

Nice pool for the kids and OC is just a d few minuets away by car. Unless you want to be in the middle of OC, this is the perfect place! All the convenience and none of the noise!
