They used to downright encourage you to just reschedule if you needed to cancel date. No charge. Now I understand they will not do it? Said was always policy but poorly enforced. Been their plenty but not in past 18 months so wondering. Not sure if cost an issue ... maybe lose $10 adm fee as long as canx week in advance.

Reservations here I believe are running $50.00. We just paid that much to attend the SE iRV2 Halloween Rally at the end of October. We're currently are on Site I-69. It's been perfect here including the beach. Today we knew why they call this place Ocean Lakes. The ocean was like a lake today for a while there compared to the previous days.

We were thinking of making reservations (we love off season here) and recently checked this out on their web site because we are a little unsure of our arrival date. Their campsite reservation policy as shown on their web site HERE states there is a $50 minimum deposit that must be received within 7 days of making the reservation. Cancellations 7 days or more prior to arrival date are subject to a $10 fee. Cancellations within 7 days of arrival are subject to a $50 fee.

Modifications of the reservation are defined as a change around or within the initial dates reserved (i. e. changing your arrival and/or departure by a few days) and may be made up to 7 days prior to scheduled arrival, apparently with no penalty. It doesn't say what happens if you want to make a modification within 7 days of arrival. Changing to another week or month which would be outside your original dates is defined as a cancellation and new reservation for a new time period (NOT a modification) and is subject to the cancellation policy ($10 fee 7 days prior to arrival and $50 fee within 7 days).

Maybe the confusion is caused by changing to another week as opposed to changing your arrival by a few days. If you want to make absolutely sure, you could call Ocean Lakes to verify their policy.

Thanks paz. Yes, that would be it. In the past they would just change dates regardless. OL admitted they had strayed from original policy over the years. Apparantly "enforcement" started some month's ago and letter would be going out in October(?)to OL visitors list.

We, especially kids, have always liked OL but without kids find we like MBTP too.

Just to confirm the policy stated on the Ocean Lakes web site is accurate, we changed the week of our reservation last night and they charged us $10. We were unsure of our arrival date when we first made our reservation, but we went ahead and booked anyway because we knew if we had to reschedule, we would know it well in advance of the 7 day limit and we didn't think the $10 fee was unreasonable. As jmo says, they apparently didn't bother to enforce this $10 rescheduling fee in the past ($50 if within 7 days of originally scheduled arrival), but now they are.

I must have gotten lucky and got agent who gave me a new date one time within week and did not charge me $50! Have enjoyed many good trips there, taking MH and also renting houses.
