Hi,
We just came back from 2 weeks at Pirateland. This year there seemed to be a lot of shuffling going on. We had paid for our camping in full way back in Jan to guarantee a site and we got moved to one next to a bathroom-well at least we DID get that changed.
We had other campers next to us that were being moved around during their stay. Some after the 1st day others, their last. It seemed someone was always moving.
We took a ride up to Ocean Lakes. Definately more modern and updated. Can anyone tell me more about it? What do you find are pluses about staying there? It was very crowded when we went on the look through-no parking at all by the beach. Loved the pull through sites, that's a good thing. We have 3 kids- two teens and a 7 1/2 year old-so what can they do there for fun?
So pass any information along so we can decided where to book in for next year. We are "hoping" to upgrade to a trailer with a slide for next year too after this trip.
Thanks!
Nell

We stayed there in January....right after New Year. Obviously, it wasn't crowded. As you say, it is modern, well monitored by helpful security folks, and has a lot of amenities. They have a new restaurant, laundromat, and store. You can rent golf cars or bring your own if it is electric. We liked it but don't normally travel to the beach during the most busy times.
You might want to check campgroundreviews.com. There are several reviews of Ocean Lakes there.
