Oceano, California

DW and I went camping over the weekend at the Oceano Dunes in Cali. We stayed at the Pacific Dunes RV Resort, Aaaaaaa it not a resort. But we enjoyed the time away and hiking in the dunes and the evening walks on the beach.

Hi Bill n Jan...My DW is from Oceano and the Pismo area is one of my favorite places. Oceano beach is one of the few Calif beaches that you can drive on. You should have stayed at Pismo Coast Village just a few miles north. It is a much nicer "resort". There is also a great park in Morrow Bay. I am surprised that you found space anywhere this time of year, if you had no reservation. The area books 1 year in advance due to the great beaches in the area. Glad you enjoyed your time there. We are planning to spend the winter at Morrow Bay. Winter weather is often better than it is in summer. The fog goes away in the fall and winter rates start in Oct. We will be headed that way Sept 1...cant wait
