Oklahoma:Woodward:Boiling Springs State Park

Planning on a stopover at Boiling Springs State Park just outside of Woodward, Oklahoma on our way to SW Ks. from DFW.

Anyone been there recently and opinions, what to watch for, etc?

Thanks!

Make sure your RV has A/C. It can be very hot there sometimes. Pretty nice park though. Used to be a great BBQ place in town called Maria's. Enjoy!

I was raised in Woodward and we return most every Memorial Day to stay at Boiling Springs. We love going there. Some times it is packed on the holiday week-end. Hope you enjoy it!

Is there a nice space number we should request when we go there? I need a nice wide spot so the pups have a place to get out and play....

Thanks!

We are going to be there Sunday. What's a good wide spot number?

The pull throughs on top of the hill are all good size. The two end sites of course have more to one side. We always shoot for one with afternoon shade. The back-ins are pretty much all shaded, and some more spacious. It is easy to loop through and eyeball what is open, then go back around and take one. We are headed that way this weekend for a short visit ...not sure if we'll stay there or try to find something closer to South side of town.

Kent ... Good to meet ya'll yesterday! And Molly thanks you for the idea of the "pet pen" ... she really likes her yard time, with some run & fetch. After looking on the internet, we went to Atwoods in Woodward and found exactly what you had. We got 3 sets, and after I cut one section down to go under the steps, Molly had a great time of fetch while off leash. We move on tomorrow

Likewise Paul! I was in the shower and Tina said she saw y'all waving and she didn't know you were getting ready to leave she'd have come out. She's kind of a shy little girl.

Anyway, hope the x-pens work out and glad to have met you and Molly and Maggie! What a treat ! Made the evening extra fun! We made it in to Lakin yesterday about 2:30.

Take care and have fun in Colorado!

Hey Paul, take a pic of how you cut the section under the steps, I'd like to see that?

Thanks!

What a great site Paul. I am really enjoying the pics and the diary. Especially the pups. It's nice to get to see the Mrs. as well. Sorry I didn't get to meet her when we were next door to each other. Hopefully some day down the road.....

Thanks for sharing!
