Old Victoria Mining Town, Ontonagan Michigan

[Every Miles A Memory]

While traveling through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, my wife and I stopped by the Old Victoria Mining Ghost Town, which is now a few old cabins that are outfitted from the turn of the century, the last one, not 99 to 2000 . It's run by the historical society for Old Victoria and a nice older couple gives you a fifteen minute tour explaining all the pieces and what they were used for.

I think Cindy and I like to talk, because we were here for over two hours taking pictures and talking with the two people who ran the place. It was a great place to visit, and really secluded, set back in the woods. It's up near Ontanogon if you're wondering.

Look at the craftsmanship of the corners. These were built in the late 1800's and are still standing today!!

Sorry for so many pictures, but it was hard to pick which ones I liked the best. The fall colors were bursting with color, and the temperatures were nice and cool, but not yet cold. We were there in late September. I wouldnt try and drive up there in the RV, the roads are very steep and curvy, so either dump the camper off as soon as you turn off the main road, or leave it in Ontonagan which is just a few miles away.
