Olympic National Park - Kalaloch and South Beach Campground

I have not been to Kalaloch for many years, particularly due to the fact that larger RV's can't get in. There is another CG a few miles south that used to be called the Kalaloch Overflow area - it is now called the South Beach Campground. The description in the ONP website mentions 35 foot max. I recently saw some pictures online that I haven't been able to find again that indicate that larger RV's may fit in. The RV's lined up along the drive and it looks to me that our 40' MH would fit.

If anyone has had a recent experience at the South Beach Campgrond in the Olympic National park I would appreciate any feedback that you may have. It would be a great place to spend 2-3 days even if there are no hookups, potable water or sewer dump as long as we go in with empty holding tanks and a full water tank.

We stayed at klaloch this spring. There were a few sites we could fit in. We have a 40' and found a great site for a few days. It was great. No power.
Don't know where the south beach campground is.

South Beach 3 miles SOuth of Kalaloch Olympic nat park

FYI - I found a website with photos of campgrounds - apparently throughout the USA. The following link is for South Beach in Olympic National Park - about 3 miles South of Kalaloch.

South Beach Campground Information

Even though the ONP website states 35' maximum length it looks like a 40' would not be a problem. Best way is to call the park and tolk with someone, provided you get someone who knows the park.

This website should be a good reference for anyone trying to scope out a campsite before heading out or making reservations. I checked out a couple of Washington State Parks - Rasar and Deception Pass and the pictures and info seemed to be good.

I will see if I wrote down what site we were in. I know it was the south side of the park and not on the water. There were like 3 lanes over there and we were in the middle lane.
