We are going to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta in October and will be staying in the Premier Lot. The description shows it as having 20 amp service, low water pressure, and no dump station. There was an on-site pump-out service offered. Has anyone ever used anything like this? I would like to get an explanation and an idea of what cost is involved.
Thanks in advance.

All that is involved is a truck with pump capabilities such as is used for pumping septic tanks out. They will run their hose to your dump valves and pump out the tanks.

I've heard some say that the strong suction can cause problems with the toilet seals. I've only done it once, at GNR last year, and had no problems.

Cost varies at each event. We paid $15.00 when we had ours pumped, I've heard of as much as $40.00 depending on the event.

We have been pumped many times and an experienced person should not damage your system, if your vent is not plugged. However, we always schedule a pump-out when we are in the MH and we hold the flush valve open while he is pumping and all we can do with the grey tank is keep water running so there are air bubbles present in the traps which is supposed to help prevent collapse in case of plugged vent. This is info I got from an artist who does art shows over 200 days a year and has had thousands of pumps. We have never had a problem as the result of being pumped. For insurance, I always tell the operator; "I know time is money and I have some for you if you take your time". I Hate to do it, but would hate more to replace my holding tanks.
