When we travel to the Keys we stay at Bluewater and love it. At mile marker 15 you're only 30 minutes from everything on Key West. We reserve sites on the Bay and having your own private dock is a slice of heaven.

On our last visit there we were only able to get 4 days at Bluewater so we opted to stay at Fiesta Key at a "waterfront site" - Both were charging approximately the same rates but there was NO comparison. When we go to Fiesta Key our waterfront site was NOT waterfront and so tight we wouldn't have been able to open the slides and awnings without hitting the neighbors so we opted to leave.

Bluewater Key is a first class resort and well worth the money.

With regard to the weather - hurricanes in October are uncommon BUT when they do occur they usually start in the Gulf and must be monitored closely.
