Ancient Redwoods RV in Redcrest on CA 101 is used by many. It's also a great place to explore the redwoods... some nice easy trails.

http://ancientredwoods.net/

CA 20 is a good place to cross over.

I believe they are closed for the season.

We just did that trip last week.

We stayed at:

South beach State Park in Newport OR

Bullards Beach State Park in Bandon, OR

Mad River RV Park in Arcata, CA
Thousand Trails Russian River in Cloverdale CA

Then we stopped in Patterson, CA at Kit Fox RV park and A Country RV park in Bakersfield.

Took our time and watched the weather as that Bomb Cyclone came ashore last Tuesday It was worth reserving ahead as we did. Every place we stayed at (besides the state parks) were full of snowbirds heading south as we were.

We are in a 33 foot Class A with Toyota Tacoma following. All the sites fit both together with no issue.

We didn't want to mess with snowy traveling weather over Siskiyou and Shasta Mountains which happened while we were heading down the coast. The coast is a pretty drive, but a lot more work than I-5 is if the weather is OK along I-5.

Safe Travels!

On our trip south last week, South Beach, Bullards Beach, Thousand Trails all had water and power. they did not have sewer hookups at the sites.

Thousand Trails will be tricky to get around in a 44 foot rig with tow. But, there were rigs that large in the park when we were there. There were 5th wheels and DP's that were in that length range. But the DP's would need the tow to be disconnected before getting into the sites. The roads are just too windy to make it easy all hooked together.

We normally don't hook up the sewer when traveling like last week until either of the tanks are getting full. Then, we either use a dump location at the park or just hook up to what is at the site if it is available.

What TT are you talking about? Whalers Rest (Newport/South Beach) all sites but the overflow area, have FHU.

South Jetty (Florence) only has a few. They did just upgrade the dump station though.

Pacific City only has a few FHU if any.

Seaside Not sure of.

At Rivers Edge in Brookings is very nice. X2 for Ancient Redwoods. IF you end up in the Bay area, Napa valley expo is also nice.
