A nice report Al and Deb. Thanks for sharing your travels. You mentioned you stayed a few nights at Honeyman State Park, Florence Oregon. My wife and I have the good fortune to be Interpretive Hosts now at Honeyman, for three months. The State Park is certainly a family tradition with lots of folks in the area.

Gruelens, that sounds like a fantastic job. We do love the area and Honeyman is one of our favorite state parks. Have a great three months!

Will be headed up to Oregon next month, trying to hit as many Thousand Trail Campgrounds as I can. As it stands right now we will hit Whaler's Rest, South Jetty, Pacific City, Neskowin Creek and Bend/Seaside.....we have only visited Redmond many year's ago so it will be a first for all these new spots. We will hit a couple places in Calif too on our way back home(Russian River, Snowflower and Tahoe Valley)...all in all about 8 weeks roughly.

TMan59, I agree...and photos just don't do the redwoods justice...you have to see them in person to really appreciate them! :-)

You are correct, there is really no way any picture can replicate what your looking at.
If your that way again, just an idea for ya.

We also did a loop in the toad to "the lost coast" and ended up in Ferncrest. (Maybe Ferndale ).
It took us about 4 hours of driving to do about 70 miles.
Beautiful Vistas of the coast. Very few services. Had dinner in Ferncrest, a great little town.
No way any rv should attempt this drive.

We just got back from an 8 day trip up the Oregon coast. It was our first time. I can't believe how beautiful Oregon is.

I know! I'm blown away every year by the beautiful coast. Of course, I remind myself that I'm visiting at the best time of year, and it's not always that warm, and everything is so green for a reason! But we may still move there when I retire! :-)
