Orlando Universal Studios Trip

We're planning another trip in our RV this weekend up to Orlando near Universal Studios. After searching the area for RV Parks, we ran across Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake. There is limited RV full hookups there but we were able to make reservations for 2 nights and it's only 2 miles from Universal. This park is a City of Orlando facility and the nightly fee is $20.

We will report back when we return.

At that park you want to unhook your toad before getting into the RV loop as it is tight with lots of trees. Also, get there as early as you can, many of the sites are not very level. I saw more than one RV with front wheels on blocks because the jacks were deployed so far to get level the tires were off the ground without the blocks. Enjoy your weekend.

Went to Universal last summer. Kids are Harry Potter fans. My wife found some great app on her phone that tells you wait times at the rides and attractions. Very handy. The only other advice is to go early and then rest in the heat of the day. In the evening, the crowds thin out again.

Orlando Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake

I found a photo of the RV Lot we have rented for the weekend. Looking forward to some leisure time while the kids go to Universal Studios.

Turkey Lake Park

Location, location, location! Located in the heart of Orlando near all the attractions. Great selection of shopping and restaurants nearby. As noted by others not all sites are full hook-up or level and you get a little road noise from the turnpike, but this park has a lot going for it.

This is a large city park situated on a lake with large picnic pavilions used for large groups that use it mostly on the weekends but located far enough from the campground not to present any privacy issues. We've stayed when the park was hosting Classic Auto Show, Regional Crewe events, Color Run and a Regional Disc Golf tournament - I enjoy seeing the events during our stay.

There is a small farm on site, 2+ miles of paved walking/biking trails around the park, large pool located on the lakefront, boat rentals, several docks to fish from.
