we started our trip from Phoenix man it was getting hot should of left a week before, headed up to Laughlin Nv for 2 days and then on to Lone Pine on hwy 395 now we are in Mammoth Lakes and dont want to leave. it is so nice here. Went to Yosemite yesterday and loved it. now we our out of here and on to lake Tahoe to find a campground or RV park. Checked into Carson city and they seem to be cheaper in Carson city. Having the time of my life right now. Rving is just plan fun.

My family did a 6 month USA tour from California. But that was back in 67 and in our new 66 Chrysler. Dad built a wooden platform for the back seat that leveled off the foot well with the seat cushion for my brother and I. Fun trip and lots of memories. Hope you have the same. PS we loved luray caverns in Virgina/west Virgina and did alot of the civil war battle fields.

We are about 6 weeks from the end of our 9 month "One lap of America". It has had it's share of surprises - mostly good ones. If anyone asks me what I find interesting about RVing, I simply say "ADVENTURE"

Enjoy yours.

only been on the road 1 week and had problem with the 5th wheel hitch the hitch plate came off but no real damage to truck or 5th wheel hitch. we just had to have a welder come out on the road and secure it back on. Lost our spare tire Camping World cover. Glad about that. it was ugly.
We are in Lake tahoe right now.

Where did you end up staying in Lake Tahoe? That's on our agenda for August.

we parked our self in Carson City, Nv and unhooked and drove to Lake Tahoe. reason being is that the road is very steep and DH was not wanting to pay the price for fuel ($4.99), all camp sites there were pricier. Lake Tahoe is very beautiful. Not sure what hwy we are going to use to get to Mt Shasta. We are planning on leaving on Saturday and this is a holiday weekend.
