We drove I-40 to Nashville, TN in about 6 hrs. Roads were good and what a beautiful drive through the Smokey Mountains. Spent three days at the Nashville KOA next to the Grand Ole Opry. This is a must see for lovers of country music history. I still recall my parents watching Miss Minnie Pearl on Hee Haw. Now, if you go down Broadway and visit the Honkey Tonks, be prepared for the masses of people. A lot of drinking going on, but not as bad as when we were on Bourbon Street, New Orleans.

Sometimes all you can find are city parks with no water, sewer and you are lucky to get 30 amps.

Lots of great memories here. Too fast for me. In August I went from Austin TX to Freeport ME and back in 7 weeks. That was too fast also.

Today (10/18/19) was a travel day from Laurel Nebraska to Ogallala (strange name). I don’t think I will trust Google Maps much in the future. It took us on the “fastest” route, but it was zig zagging through country highways with on-coming traffic and the high winds made it pretty scary. So I purchased the CoPilot app for the rest of the route back to CA. Tomorrow is another travel day to Rock Springs, WY followed by a third travel day to Zion National Park. Never again will we try to bomb the miles without stopping somewhere for at least 3 days and enjoying the area.

Beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing. Amazing what you can see and who you can meet when you have time to stop driving and get out and look.

Thanks for the photos.... some brought back good memories .... like Bryce! Love that place. I think we've hiked every trail there.

Following your trip, October would be the perfect time for Lake Greenwood. We were there over a holiday weekend, never again. The park was packed.
We might be going to Nashville in December and will go to the Opry at the Ryman. We have been there several times in the car.
Lady Google is not always your friend! RV Trip Wizard and some of the other aps are better at providing directions that does not include bridges where you are asking the driver, exactly HOW much does the RV weigh? Or if there is enough room for us and oncoming traffic.
