Outer Banks

I'm thinking of staying on the Outer Banks this weekend but am worried about Hurricane Jose. Any thoughts?

We spent a rainy, windy week in the Outer Banks, last year.

There was constant ocean water flooding the main highway and machines clearing the roads of wind blown sand.

The Federal campground near the lighthouse was closed because it was under about 6 inchs of water, the whole week.

Note the name, "OBX"! If your in to kite boarding it'll be great but if your looking for beach time and value your slide out toppers, not so much. OBX is breezy on good days....hence Wilbur and Orville's selection for an environment that created "Lift" over fabricated "wings."

We didn't want to leave early, before the salt water drained off the highway. Didn't like the thought of driving our MH thru it. It was bad enough, being unable to avoid It on the way in. Turn arounds are far and few between.

Thanks for the replies! Campground said weather supposed to be good until Wednesday, so we are going to stay close to northern end in case we need to bug out!

Here is a picture I found on our way in, on highway 12.
