Outer Banks fall weather

Could anyone tell me what to expect for weather in Oct-Dec time frame ?

That is a 3 month period. October is usually pretty moderate with highs in the 70's and December is cool with highs in the 50's. The big unpredictability is due to the fact that most of that time period is during hurricane season, and if one of those shows up, then all (and I mean all) bets are off. It is a great time of year for the Outer Banks, except for the big if.

We usually go there in Oct and the weather is generally very nice. It can get windy though. The latest we have been there is early November. The Nov weekend we were there the temps were in the high 60s. The very next weekend it was in the 30s. Weather in the OBX during those months is like a box of chocolates.

Unpredictable. Word of caution. Hurricane there can be a crap shot as they tend to veer by just a tad to east or west of the barrier islands . So if one is predicted just get out. The roads can overwash and wash out in a heartbeat. Even a nor'easter in November will give very bad storms
