Outer Banks OBX CG recommendations for Oct & Nov
Looking for first hand informations on campgrouds you would recommend. State and county parks are ok.
Solo traveler in 34' motorhome. Yep, I know it is the tail end of hurricane season.
Thanks for your help

Ocean Waves on Hattaras Island. Good W/S/E/C/wifi, ocean just over the dunes, and reasonable rates. Ocean Waves Campground

We are currently camped at OBX Campground RV Park in Kill Devil Hills. I highly recommend it due to its location and local amenities. Not much in the park for kids to do but it's clean and the locals are friendly.

X2 on ocean Waves. We were there last September. National Seashore has several campgrounds with no hookups.

Camp Hatteras is very nice, Oceans Waves is also. On our first trip Ocean Waves was our 1st choice but booked so we stayed at Camp Hatteras. Our last trip we camped at Ocracoke Campground loved it too just know before you go, no hookups and I personally do not like the non-site specific reservation policy! Regardless of where you camp be sure to visit Ocracoke and the village. Also, check out Howard's Pub imho it's a home run!!!

You won't need reservations at Camp Hatteras during Sept. Can't say about Ocean Waves.

USMCRET, thanks for the info, we spent 9 years renting a house in KDH & Nags head, then kids and college temporarily put that on hold, now we can take our house with us, can't wait.

Stayed at Camp Hatteras in May. Nice place to stay. Due to recent beach erosion it is a very steep beach access at Waves. Our older dog could not have made it up or down. For that matter neither could DW. Easy access at Camp Hatteras. Would not need reservation in fall unless fish were running.
