We are planning a spring trip (late April or early May) and considering the Outer Banks. We haven't been there since 1985 in a pop up camper and stayed at a place called Sandpiper's Trace in Manteo. Looks like Ocean Waves, Hatteras KOA and one other (can't remember the name) are the better choices.

Any suggestions from others who frequent that area are appreciated.

Every time we go, we stay at Camp Hatteras. Its very pet freindly and all paved.
It has cable, wi-fi, and right on the water

Gary, I second the nomination for Camp Hatteras. We were just there this past October for about a week. There are two sides to the camp, the sound and the sea side. We have stayed on the sound side about 4 times and we've stayed on the sea side once. I'm sure that you will like Camp Hatteras.

We stayed at the Waves Campground once and it wasn't bad at all. It's a small place and everything is all on one road with back-in parking on both sides.

If you have Verizon, the cell tower is right next to the campground.
