Overnight in savannah on way to disney

The wife and I along with 2 kids (doggies, but don't tell 'em) are leaving charlotte for disney world this Tuesday(5'th) after lunch. Not interested in driving all the way, so looking for a decent place to overnight around the savannah area. Any suggestions? Campground or Walmart or flying J...

FYI, in orlando we will be a couple nights at tropical palms and then on to Ft wilderness!!

Thanks.

We like the KOA Savannah South. Nice property with a small lake, clean and level sites.

Check out Coastal Ga RV Resort in Brunswick, Ga. Right off I-95. A little bit north of Jacksonville, FL. We have reservations there on our way to Charleston, SC in two weeks.

Been coming here for the last 15 yrs...

On the northern side of Savannah at the Rt. US 80 exit I believe, there is both a Walmart and Sam's Club just off the exit. We stop there a couple times a year on our way south. Prefer the Sam's Club lot because it is quiet, closed during the night, and away from other congested areas. Just stopped there a few weeks ago.

We have stayed at hilton head motorcoach resort and loved it, but it is a bit too far off I95 for just a place to sleep one night.
It looks like we will have lots of options.
Thanks

There is a new RV Park at exit 8 called Camp Lake Jasper. Much cheaper and closer then Hilton Head. I am staying at Hardeeville RV Park and went over to check them out. All roads are paved but sites are grass and stone. They are planning on paving all sights in near future. Looks like it will be a nice Park. Very friendly front desk. Prices in the mid 30$ range with full hookup.

X2 on the KOA and Coastal Georgia. We've stayed at both and they are nice. There also, is a nice park, called "Savannah Oaks", which is woodsy and peaceful. I it's just off I-95, to the West, but far enough that you don't hear any highway noises. Stay away from "Red Gate" RV Park. We stayed there for about 30 min., (just enough time to hook up and then break camp). But I had to leave on the DW's insistence that "this was only a field parking lot"! The park had "No Class" at all.

I just stayed at Coastal Ga RV Resort and it is very nice and very convenient to I-95. Nice concrete pull thru pads. Also have a small enclosed dog park for the kids to run. Fuel is right there as you get off of 95. Have a great trip.

This is day of week specific.. In Townsend GA (Take the exit for the Darian outlet mall, I think it's 39) There is a campground called Cathead Creek RV park.... And cowboy church.

To get there, as I said, take the Exit for the outlet mall, drive past the mall (you will turn right on the s/b trip) and drive as straight as you can for about 3 miles. it will be on the right. JUST about a quarter mile before you get there the road you are on curves to the right but another (COX) continues straight.. It's on COX road so you go straight.

THURSDAY is the day to arrive

Be preapared with a "Dish to pass" and long about six pm (As I recall) hike over to the cowboy church just down the lane a bit past the horse paddock and land owner's house.

They are something else. There is a lot of music, A lot of food, A lot of friendship and since it's a church a bit of scripture a short and I mean short, homily and the obligatory "Let's pray for ___ and ___ and ___).

Sometimes he brings in professional music groups as well.

Now.. For me there is one more attraction.. Darling Daughter lives but six miles from there.

Stayed here on our way to Charleston. Very nice, level, paved pull through sites. Nice lake and nice common areas. Would stay there again. Very easy on-off I-95.
