Overnight near Prattville / Montgomery Alabama?

DW and I are taking the coach to Florida next week. We have about a 700 mile drive, so we'll do it in two legs. We're looking for a spot to overnight around Prattville. We just need a place to park and sleep so dry camping in a parking lot is OK with us.

Anyone have suggestions on a spot? WalMart? Flying J? Cabella's?

Thanks!

When we are in that area, we stay at Gunter Hill COE Park. $12 with the senior pass and full hook ups. A little off the interstate but right on the Alabama River. We have also stayed at Capitol RV Park, another nice place.

Here is a link to a NO Park Walmart site.
No Overnight Parking at Walmart – Walmart Atlas

We stay at Walmarts but check to see if they allow parking first. Normally Walmarts will allow parking unless there is a local ordinance not allowing it. A good hint is if you don't see other RV's.

You might also check for near by Sam's club, same as Walmart.

Cracker Barrel's allow parking but you need to ask to make sure and they usually don't want you parking really early.

We have stayed at most of the larger Trucks Stops without a problem although don't take a premium spot that easy for a truck to get into. Truck drivers need places to park and that's how they make their living. The last time we stayed at one we pulled off way to the side to make sure we left the better spots for the trucks.

RV Parky is a great app for finding Walmart and campgrounds. I use it all the time. Both Prattville and Montgomery both have WM's with OP. My Pilot app is great for locating Pilot and Flying J stations.

WalMart at Greenville AL...another 40miles, but large and quiet. Pull behind the store to get to the parking on the West side of lot and the truck barring overheads to the main parking lot. Did this in Oct and they welcome RVs.

There is a Bass Pro Shop at the Prattville exit on I65 might want to check with them on an overnight spot.

The Bass Pro Shop in Prattville has a very difficult parking lot. We had a heck of a time finding our way out of there the first time and we were not towing.
