Overnight Parking at LL Bean in Freeport, ME

As the title says, since this thread is dated 2012, does anyone have any updated info about parking in the public parking lot at Bean in Freeport? Also what would be the best time of day to arrive? I read somewhere that they only allow 3 hour parking until 6pm. So what to arrive if we want to overnight?? Thanks!!

Why not just call the store and ask them?

When we were there a couple of years ago, there were 4 parking spaces in total and 2 of them were being taken on a long term basis by a couple whose coach made it clear that they worked for one of the big caravan companies. They had their slides out and were taking up two of the four spaces The parking duration restrictions were obviously not enforced.

The reason I mention this is because you can't count on getting one of these spaces on the specific day you show up. The spaces aren't really just for LLBean; they are in an area where people park to shop at any of the stores there.

Personally, we were quite disappointed in the Bean store. In our opinion it wasn't any better than the Bean stores you can find in lots of outlet malls around the US.

Well, the parking lot is not a public lot, it's owned by the property owner and open to public use just like most other big box lots and the owner has final say. The property might just be leased to the store.

I actually did a search on this forum about parking at Bean. That is why my first sentence was worded the way it is. The last posting I could find was dated back in 2012 and I couldn't revive it. My bad for not catching it. That being said I know I could call them but thought I would ask here first from people like me that RV. It is a chance that I guess we will just have to take. We can always move on to somewhere else if this doesn't work. Thanks for all the comments so far.

I have never heard that they allow RV parking there. We live about 8 miles away. There is a Walmart in Falmouth about 10 miles south which I have seen RV's park at, and a Cabelas 25 miles south in Scarborough. There's also a Maine state info center in Yarmouth on Rt1 at Jct I-295, just south of Freeport with truck RV parking. Not positive what their overnight policy would be but I know truckers pull in there and catch a few Z's often.

What's wrong with the RV parking lot on Depot St. I park there all the time.

That's the one I'm talking about. Do you know what would be the best time of day to get there?? We don't care if we get blocked in as we have no schedule.

We parked there last summer (Depot Street) but only to do some shopping in the area. We arrived around noon on our way north and we were the only ones there. We were staying at Wild Duck campground in Scarborough, south of Freeport.

Hi - we've overnighted in that parking lot several times, most recently last November. Not aware of any 3 hour limit at any time - folks could easily spend more time than that just wandering about in all the stores! it is a pull-thru lot, signed for RV's. The Cabela's mentioned in Scarborough has a nice lot, but supposedly it is not for overnight parking (but many trucks do...). We have used the Walmart just up the street for Cabela's in the past. ST

Walmart isn't bad in Brunswick for overnighting.

Thanks to all!

Thanks to all of you who responded. We arrived around 12:30 yesterday and had no trouble getting a place. It did become full later on as the day wore on though.
I can see how you could get blocked in if you are not careful where you park if you have a big rig. The lot is not all that level either. I did see across Depot St there was a lot with several RV's in it later on in the afternoon/evening.
But our mission was accomplished and now on to another adventure today!!

Howdy!

Don't know about LL Bean but we have stayed in the parking lot of Kittery Trading Post just down the road. We asked the manager and was advised it was OK.
