overnight parking - McKinney. Texas

We will be visiting relatives in the McKinney, TX area - north of Dallas and are wondering if anyone knows where we can park to camp with our 19 ft. bumper pull for 1 -2 nights. Camp ground or other - we've not been able to locate RV parks in the area - either too far away, etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Try the WalMart just east of US75 on SH380 or the one just south of SH380 on Custer Road. Also, McKinney Methodist Hospital east of Custer Road on Eldorado Parkway. We have stayed overnight at all three. We asked first, of course.

overnight parking - McKinney, TX

M2HB - thanks for the fast response! We are unfamiliar with the area and were unsure if the WalMarts in the area allowed overnight parking. You've given us three great options. Appreciate it much! This is why we love this site - there's a lot of knowledge out there! Thanks - wheels

Just be sure to ask first. Policies might have changed. At least one Walmart there is in a shopping center that has signs posted against overnight parking. Also, when we stayed at the hospital it was new and during Christmas so their census (and parking needs) was very low.

Check out Shady Creek RV Park and Storage in Aubrey, TX. We were going to do a couple of days there if the MCD shade installation took longer then expected.

The parking lots suggested are normally used for overnight stops, not camping for 1-2 nights. They may frown if you set up camp for a night or two.

You might call MCD Innovations MCD Shades
800.804.1757

They might be able to tell you where you can stay. And you can always tour the factory. Hope this helps.

Shady Creek is where they told me if I didn't want to stay in their lot over the weekend. As it turned out we stayed in their lot over the weekend and dumped and filled water at their facility. I was there almost a week and never knew they did factory tours. Peggy and Jim never mentioned that.

Wheels,

I Live in Mckinney and the best place would be Lighthouse RV Resort in Melissa. It is just north of Mckinney right off 75. It is a well run park. Justs look up on RV Park Review. Good Luck.

Hi Guys, it could be we didn't have a tour scheduled at MCD while you were with us. If we have a large group in the lot we try to schedule them for either Monday afternoons or Tuesday mornings.

Hi Peg and welcome to the forum! You and Jim will be a great resource for questions regarding shades. We are in Myrtle Beach, S.C. and just love our new shades!

Tom, Cheryl and Blossom.
