Overnight Stay / Savannah GA

First of October, we are leaving our work camping assignment in western Virginia and driving to Gaffney SC for one night and day at the Freightliner service center, then home to Florida.

Hopefully, the Freightliner mechanics will finish in late afternoon and we can proceed south on I-26 and I-95. Savannah will be a 4-5 hour drive.

We plan to get some sleep around Savannah and would like recommendations of a quiet and safe parking spot, easy ingress / exit, dry camping is OK.

Suggestions?

I stayed at Sunshine Acres for awhile when I visited. It was near a Police Training center. The park is not much to look at, full hookups, the owner lives near the park, and it was quiet.

There a KOA just outside of Savannah that is nice. Sits on a lake and was very clean.

Hardeeville RV is very convenient. Take Exit 5 off I95 (US17 to Savannah) and they are 11 miles south. Next day continue south on US17 to I16 back to I95.

If you want to visit savannah you can stay at the visitor center right downtown. dry camping, spots are more large parking spots than anything but the location and price is right for spending a day/night sightseeing savannah. In an out is pretty easy. We stayed there in a 33 foot class a and enjoyed. Sightseeing during most of the day, relax, then back out to bar hop for the night and stumble home to the rv.
