Also After reading the rules for bluewater rv they mention bugs and ants are bad. what does everyone use for ants or other critters from getting in there coach. for skittters bug spray with Deet?
We've stayed at both Larry & Penny and Miami Everglades. Both work for a stopover. I prefer Miami Everglades as it's easier to get into, being on a rural road vs. Larry & Penny, which is in a more suburban environment.
We've never had any major issues with bugs at Bluewater. If you are sitting outside, most of the tiki's have fans, keep them on and they blow the no-see-um's away. I carry Ortho bug spray and where ever we are camped, If I see ants, I'll spray around the tires and jack pads.
We will be in the Keys most of April, but not at Bluewater this time. Will be at Point of View,El Mar and Curry Hammock.

We decided to overnight at John and Penny park. It looks like an easy on and off from the turnpike and gives us a chance to see if we want to stay there longer on a future visit. We'll be at Bahia Honda and Long Key state Parks in April. We called and reserved a pull thru. I did consider the Indian casino but liked the idea of a full service site prior to arriving at the Key parks so we will have empty waste tanks on arrival.

We can see the Bahia Honda waterfront campsites from our deck on Big Pine Key!

If you need anything while you're down here, feel free to PM me.

anywhere we go we setup the usual smoke and spray and baby magic lotion and the good old breeze maker to stop them from landing.
