Overnighting at Harris Ranch

Traveling down (or up) I-5 in Ca on occasion and wondering if you can stop overnight in the parking lot at Harris Ranch. Has anyone ever done it? Recently?

I see RV's there all the time. I have never over nighted but have a few friends that do it on a regular basis.

Stayed there many years ago. The hotel has grapefruit growing on the property. The maid noticed I liked grapefruit and would pick and slice a grapefruit when she did my room. I turned into a big tipper on that trip. And the rest of the staff was just as amazing. Try the bull balls.

If they are the real thing I think I'll pass! Tried them once at our yacht club though. They had a "wild game" dinner night and someone brought them in.

There should be plenty of room there in the dirt lot area (between the fuel station and the freeway). Just keep an eye out for big potholes/ruts.

I have overnighted at Harris ranch a few years ago. If you turn right and go behind overpriced shell station there is a large lot that I and a gazillion truckers used. The breakfast at the restaurant is great!

We also overnighted there a couple of years ago - bewteen the gas station and the freeway in the dirt lot. Was kind of noisy but OK. I wouldn't do it if it were raining but I guess not much to worry about rain now.

...except that in some areas of California it rained very heavily last night...we got 1/2" of rain in just a few hours here in the Bay Area.

We were actually in Coalinga last night and this morning which is what prompted our question. It poured this morning.
