Well going to try and get out for a 5 day 4th of July trip to Traystown Lake and a Campground called Heritage Cove Resort. Nice place with it's own boat ramp to the lake, swimming pool etc., 195 sites ALL with S/E/W
I was one of the first or second campers in when they opened 4 yrs ago and it was our best kept secret for a couple of years while being a seasonal. Now it is busy all season.
Check out their website www.heritagecoveresort.com
Oh yea that's my pontoon, with the blue bimini, in the photo gallery.

This is a nice campground but IMHO, $40, $45 and $48 a night for 50amp is a little steep. But, I know the owners probably aren't getting rich.

My wife's 5th great-grandfather lived about 10 miles south in Yellow Creek. He purcahsed the land 5 Apr 1797 according to Bedford County deed records.

I agree with steep prices which is why I was seasonal there for the past three years (Too busy this year) 1800 for 6 months (Apr-Oct.) worked out to 10.00 m/l per night.
I know but will not divulge what it cost for the land and to build the place....not to mention dealing with the Army Corp of Engineers at the lake...He is NOT getting rich.
PS they are wrapping up the new bridge at Weaver Falls It has higher capacity and better entrance and exit lines. And some of River road has been paved.

Jestme..sorry 'bout that but my abused mechanics fingers added a T to Raystown.
Heritage Cove is only about 4 yrs old and on the South end of the lake.
The resort is still there and we often take an early AM boat ride up there for the breakfast buffet. Sit on the deck and eat breakfast and overlook the lake before the crowd hits then it's back to our little hideaway.
BTW I was up at heritage this past weekend and they still had a few sites left for the 4th.
They are a little pricey like Tom N said but doing the math and knowing the owner well I took a site for whole month for about 100.00 more than it cost for the holiday weekend. it's only 1.5 hrs from the house so what the heck...work all week (ickkkk) then hoof it up to the lake and unlock the door and camp! I'll leave the duallie there and save on the gas for that hog and put it in the boat!
From there it's off to J&D up near Knoebels (sp) Grove in early Sept.
Have a great 4th where ever you spend it !
USA USA USA
