Page AZ slot canyon tour recommendations

We will be in Page AZ for a week starting 3/16/19. We see there are many slot canyon tour companies to reserve and are looking for suggestions based on your experiences.

Also, there are two different slot canyons as well. There is the upper Antelope slot canyon, which you have to ride in the back of a shuttle truck to the entrance. Then there is the lower Antelope slot canyons, which you can just walk behind the building with a guide and enter the canyon. We did the lower slot canyon, as I believe it was a bit cheaper, and wasnt limited by how many people they could get on the backs of the trucks. Dont quote me on that, as we didnt do the upper. The lower canyon was beautiful, and was very cool. It did have some stairs and a few ladders you had to climb. Im not sure about the upper. If someone had limited mobility, it could be a challenge. Dont forget to visit horseshoe bend, and the Glen Canyon Dam while you are there. Cheers.

Also take a tour boat ride up to Rainbow Bridge. The real beauty is once you get on the lake.

I have a cruiser slipped in Wahweap Marina but have never done the slot canyon tours.

We were there just last week and really enjoyed our Lower Antelope Canyon Tour with Dixie Ellis Co.

Just came back from trip around Utah and did a swing through Page to see Lower Antelope Canyon. We went with Ken’s Tours and had a great time. We did not have reservations, but got to go through on stand-by in short order. Our guide was very personable and informative. It was incredible.

Have been to the upper Canyon.
White trucks with blue tarps in the center of town.
Fantastic

Best money we ever spent while visiting Page was we went to the marina and rented a boat for 8 hrs. packed a picnic basket and spent the day exploring the lake

Don't forget to see Horseshoe Bend!

Lower Antelope Canyon was really cool, but we made the mistake of going the day after Christmas. There appeared to be well over 1000 people there that day. We had reservations, but it really did mean anything.

We were just there a couple of days ago and did the lower canyon with Ken's Tours. Highly recommended. Go online and get reservations a few days before. They were turning away walk ins when we were there. Also worth seeing Horseshoe bend and the dam as already mentioned. Everything is close by to each other. Have fun!

We used Antelope Slot Canyon Tours by Chief Tsosie to take the upper canyon tour in August and we had a great time.

Their trucks have seats in the back that face outwards so you get a clear view on your way to the canyon. Other trucks had seats on the outside facing the middle so you faced the other passengers.

Leonard was our guide and he was really good! He would show you the correct angles to get the best pictures and would also take pictures with your camera, adjusting the settings to create really interesting colors.

It is a must see attraction!

Thanks for your responses. We have selected Kens tours for the lower Slot Canyon. We need to decide what will be the best time for pictures in the Canyon.

Our trip just wasn't enjoyable -- we went to upper Antelope canyon. First, we went in October so school was in session and we expected fewer people. That wasn't the case, the parking lot was full -- several companies used the same lot. Then they packed us in to the back of 4X4 pickups (with benches) for a bumpy fast ride to the start of the canyon. The walk through was crowed with so many people you couldn't really enjoy the experience. Then they hustled us back to the parking lot so they could get another 50 people into the canyon. Next time we're out that way we'll skip the guided tours and try one of the other accessible canyons that you can reach and don't need a tour.

Here's a good site on how to choose a tour. There are many options including as few as 6 in your group.

https://antelopecanyon.az/how-to-boo...telope-canyon/

There are many slot canyons in the Southwest that you can enjoy by yourself. We done some of these:
