Pahrump to Reno/Tahoe

Were planning on this route as we head home, asking for some help on fhu CG near Carson City/Reno/Tahoe. We have a toad so we could stay away from downtown areas. One person mentioned a big climb from Carson to Reno? Would probably stay 1-3 days.
Thanks

There is a short climb between Carson City and Reno. It's freeway so not a big deal at all.

As for an RV park, the area is lacking. You could try the Sparks Marina RV Park or Bordertown Casino RV Park or the Gold Ranch Casino RV Park. Most of the other's we've seen are pretty sketchy or located near the freeway or airport.

We used to live there and when we go back to visit we either stay at Washoe Lake State Park, but they don't offer FHU, or we stay at the Encore up at Tahoe with out Thousand Trails Membership.

Here's an excellent write-up on Washoe Lake State Park, including photos of the sites. Also, they've done many other reviews like this throughout the country.... a good reference for travelers. Check the top line for reviews by state.

We're currently staying at Sparks Marina. Wonderful park with great amenities. Very clean and modern. It's in a newer area of Sparks and feels safe. Back in sites are a bit short so parking a toad can be a bit of a challenge.

I live in Reno. I would also recommend the Sparks Marina RV park. Sparks borders Reno. About a 5-7 minute drive to Reno from the park. Tahoe is about 45 minutes to one hour away. Carson City is 35-40 minutes away. There isnt really a hard climb between Reno and Carson City. There is a steep and long climb from Carson City to Lake Tahoe.
Sparks Marina is a good base for exploring the area. If you get a chance, Virginia City, about 50 minutes away, is a very interesting day trip !!
Safe travels !!
