Your welcome, Darcan, this site will definitely get you away from the rat-race of the interstate. As mentioned on another thread, Painted Rock cg is also a great place for night-time sky watching because of the isolated desert location and lack of light pollution.

Great info!
We just outside Tucson and heading to Yuma for a few days.
We will have to check this out next year.
I am guessing it's ok to use your generator?

Ya, this is a pretty mellow place. I don't think there are even rules of when the gennies can be used. I've never seen it packed, so everybody is far from a neighbor (just look at my second picture of this thread, literally the definition of elbow room), so the gennies aren't really a problem. Don't you just love the great Southwest?! There is usually a host, but site payments seem to be on the honor system. Go ahead and generate!

We did stay at Painted Rock. Enjoyed it very, very much. Generator policy was, I believe, no generators between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Campground host and his wife were awesome. Had some great RZR rides, beautiful scenery and just enjoyed our stay very much. We will be back. Thanks again for posting this information.

Your welcome darcan, glad you had a nice visit. I'm always happy to help out a Dakotan, that's where my best friend from college lives. So did you find the Oatman historical sites?

We did find the massacre site but not the grave. Gotta leave something for the next visit I guess. We did come across so many different interesting things and the camp hosts were so helpful. We will definitely stay here again and do more exploring.
