Planning a possible trip to the Southfork Ranch in Parker, Texas. Any recommendations on RV parks in the area? Thanks as always.

There are several RV parks around Lake Lavon, relatively close to South Fork Ranch, but none that I know of I'd recommend for a nice rig like in your sig. pic. Several more RV parks on US75 from Plano north to Sherman. All of them will be crowded with lots of full timer 5th wheel and bumper pull trailers.

No insult intended, but why are you going to South Fork Ranch? I've never understood the attraction to the place, unless it be a wedding or reception of some sort.... Texas has tons of cool places to visit. SF Ranch just isn't very high on my preference list...

We have stayed at the KOA at Caddo Mills and it was pretty nice overall. I don't know if there are any better places nearer to South Fork. Dallas Northeast / Caddo Mills KOA | Camping in Texas | KOA Campgrounds

Auto Hauler, no insult taken! My wife shows our dog. The 2013 National Specialty for our breed is being held there next October. Was looking at the COE campground at Lake Lavon as my best choice so far. Looks as though Lavonia Park has 11 full hookup spots. It's about 15 miles from Southfork. Was hoping to find someone who has stayed there or had a better idea without being an hour away.

Not to hijack your thread, but if they close the gates at 10:00, can you get back in if you are late at a COE campground? (noob question)
